Got this terrible news from a biker forum. I can't believe it !! The management at Harley Davidson made some great mistakes in the past regarding their customers ,like denying the existence of outlaw bikers and the existence of a great culture of motorcycle modification and riding lifestile. Instead they encouraged weekend riders with lots of money to buy their products. They always wanted a "clean" image and the Buell bikes did not match the scenery. The talent and imagination of Erik Buell and his team will never be forgotten. Hopefully someone else will invest and buy the Buell brand, and production of great american sports motorcycles will restart.

This is from Wikipedia:
"The Buell Motorcycle Company was an American motorcycle manufacturer based in East Troy, Wisconsin and founded by ex-Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell. The company first partnered with Harley-Davidson in 1993, and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harley by 2003. On November 17, 2006, Buell announced that it had produced and shipped its 100,000th motorcycle.
On October 15th, 2009, Erik Buell announced on the company website that no new Buell motorcycles will be built. Harley Davidson made the decision to discontinue the Buell product line in the face of falling sales at the parent company, as part of its strategy to "focus both our effort and our investment on the Harley-Davidson brand, as we believe this provides an optimal path to sustained, meaningful long-term growth," said Harley CEO Keith Wandell. These moves also include Harley-Davidson selling off control of MV Agusta, acquired only only 14 months earlier."
